Today you embark on your tour when you board your flight to Rome. Arrive and our friendly tour manager/driver waiting outside the customearea.Proceed directly to your hotel and check into your centrally located first class hotel.
Get ready by 1530hrs as your local tour guide is waiting at lobby for your exicting exclusively Rome city tour by foot. You will visit Saint Peter in Chains Basilica, which is best known for housing Michelangelo’s statue of Moses, part of the tomb of Pope Julius II. It took Michaelangelo over 40 years to complete from 1505 to 1545. The basilica was founded in the 5th century to house the chains that bound St. Peter in Jerusalem and they remain in the basilica to this day. Visit Piazza di Spagna, one of the city’s most popular squares, known for its setting at the bottom of the Spanish Steps. Walk up these famous steps to enjoy a lovely view from the top, and then continue along Rome’s winding cobblestone alleys to the Trevi Fountain. Stop at the fountain to post for photos and throw a coin in the water, if you wish, which legend says ensures your return to Rome someday. Then continue to the square that Romans consider to be the center of the city, Piazza Colonna, home to a column erected by Marcus Aurelius. Upon arrival at Keukenhof, set off on your own, using your provided map of the 79-acre (32-hectare) gardens to explore independently. During your three hours of free time, wander along a maze of pathways lined with millions of vibrant tulips, as well as other springtime blooms like daffodils, bluebells and hyacinths.
